The Senate Accountability Project is dedicated to advocating on behalf of progressive causes. We believe that a commitment to equal opportunity and equal justice are at the heart of American democracy.  We deeply believe in the importance of a progressive tax system, a secure social safety net, protecting civil liberties, and in a civil justice system that is fair to everyone.

To ensure that America remains a vibrant democracy that stands as a model for the entire world, these progressive causes must be protected. They go to the very heart of who we are as Americans.

As progressives who care about where our country is heading, we believe there are some core issues on which we should not compromise. They are the values that have made our country so great for over 200 years. We cannot abandon them for what would ultimately be only a short-term gain.

Therefore, the Senate Accountability Project seeks to hold ALL U.S. Senators, regardless of their political party, accountable for their views and actions on these issues. The values we stand for and the issues progressives are fighting for are too important to let party identification stand in the way.

Voters deserve to know where their elected representatives stand on the key issues, and the Senate Accountability Project will work to ensure they do. When we believe a key principle needs to be focused on or defended, we bring it to the attention of voters, through television, radio, print, or Internet advertising, or other means.
